How does one of the characters you selected for #1 show leadership

Leadership-a person who guides or directs a group or person.
I think Rain shows leadership because she raised,guided, and directed Cap while he was growing up. Rain would tell him that violence wasn't the answer, that you should finish what you started;see things through to the end,dont give up,and dont give in.Rain would always make sure Cap would be ok.Chapters 31,27,22,14, 12, and chapter 1.
I think I will pick Cap as #1 that showed leadership because on page 6-9 chapter 1 when Rain fell he showed concern for her and tried to stay calm and help her even tho he didn't know what to do and to me he showed care and that was one way.
The second way was when Cap had to go to a school inside he was scared but didn't want to show it he wanted to do it for his grandma Rain so he pulled it together and finished middle school but when he heard Rain's voice he knew she was okay but he liked school so much he wanted to stay and that was on page 203-208 chapter 31.
Ashley Worthington Leadership is not being a follower you lead you group. Naomi is a leader she says "They are now beginng to feel they can harass him as much as they wanted, but the could never upset him". She was trying to lead people that bulling people ie not right.
Ulises Molina Cap shows leadership in chapter 18 page 114-119 when he was giving money to help charity. That was helping people leading March of Caring.

Zach Powers shows leadership in chapters 3,19 and 25. Zach is a leader but in a bully way because most people follow him since he is popular and if you against him he will make fun of you. He gets everyone to help make fun of Cap and nominate him as president but soon loses control of the school because they realize what he's doing is wrong and rude. No one had the courage to stand up against Zach by themselves, so they got together as a group. Everyone went along with the rest of the crowd. The second way is that when he lost control of the school to Cap he went with Hugh to help him with the " funeral" for Cap because he didn't want to be left out and also because he felt responsible for Cap leaving. He just wanted to feel that he has control of the school again not caring how he got it. People were afraid to express their opionions to Zach because they didn't want to stand out in the crowd. Noami said in chapter 6 " I personally got the impression that Cap thought that all new students went through this. Like being president was part of registering and choosing electives. But I kept my mouth shut and laughed along with the others. Zach had a great smile." She has c5rush on Zach and doesn't want to ruin their relationship by saying something that might upset Zach or make him think different of her.

Zach does show leadership but in the wrong kind of way, he uses the knowledge of knowing that people listen to him to his advantage by making everyone bully the new kid. Though, he does change his way towards the end by making flyers for Cap since he thought he was dead and decided it may not be late after all to change everyone's mind about how he is. The second way Zach shows leadership is when he decides that they should have a memorial for Cap. Zach plans everything to make it perfect. He felt guilty also since he thought it was partially his fault since he had the football player tackle Cap. He took responsibility for his actions and that takes alot to do and that shows he has the heart to be a great leader. Chapters 1 and 25.

Capricorn shows leadership when he started the tie-dye palooza. He started showing the school how to dye and tie the t-shirts or anything the kids brought. That was on page 99 and in chapter 15.
Capricorn also showed leadership when Mr.Rodrigo had some type of attack on the school bus and Cap took the wheel and drove him to the hospital with Naiomi telling him the directions. That happened on pages 72-75 chapter 11.
I think that Cap, defines leadership on chapter 28 until chapter 30. Cap shows leadership when he arrives to his own ceremonial party and makes everybody so happy to know that he still cares about them. And the second reason that I think Cap has great leadership skills is if he were not a good leader to look up to they wouldn't even think of showing up to that ceremony.
Capricorn is is being a leader by leading Zach in the right path in life how Zach it mean and selfish to people Capricorn changes that when being a leader to Zach and showing people how to act and be kind. chapter 19
LaNea Patton : Cap showed leadership when he was elected president. and Zach Powers told him that he needed to know everyone name in the school. Then he knew everyone name. That's how he showed leadership. Then he showed leadership when he drove the school bus to the hospital. when he did not have a license.
To define leadership the character I would pick would be Darryl Pennyfield because on chapter 21 paragraph 1-4 talks about how Cap was basically tackled by the entire football team including Darryl. The thing about Darryl was when he had realized that it was Cap that the football team tackled he began to feel sorry for him and when was seeing Zach powers picking on Cap again and on paragraph 60-63 says that when Darryl was going to hit Zach he had accidentally hit cap he had gotten in the way in paragraph 62 says “Honest I didn't even know Cap was there. I didn't recognize the voice that said violence is not the answer”! Darryl was showing leadership by sticking up for Cap when her was down and for admitting that her had accidentally hit Cap.
The most important thing about leadership to me is about always sticking up for your friends like on chapter Darryl Pennyfield stuck up for Cap when he was getting bullied by Zach powers. Also leadership means to be responsible. In the book Cap was suppose to be responsible of the school dance and when he had to leave C average middle school he still came back to finish what he started. He kept his word.
Chris Castellanos I feel Cap is number 1 for showing leadership. Even though Cap was chosen as a joke he still did a good job as 8th grade president. He learned everyone's name from the whole school! They were amazed when he started calling out names in the parking lot. He also did a good job with the dance he may had blew all the money but if had known how money worked he would have dealt with it the right way. In the story it said almost everyone in the entire school was helping with the dance! So that was the reason everyone was planning on going. Everyone would have probably shown up! Plus with everyone helping they all made contributions and would have felt help full.

Zaria Etyem 3. Leadership means to, take control or be in charge of something. Cap shows this when he goes to live with the Donnelly's. He shows leadership by being without his grand,other for 8 months. He also shows leadership by not giving up when being choosen for 8th grade president. He didn't give up or say I can't. He also shows leadership by standing up for what he believes in. In chapter two is where Cap has to live in a foster home. In chapter 6 is where Cap is choosen to be 8th grade prsident.

All through out the book, Zack and his friends messed with him, but Cap kept his cool.

My #1 pick is cap.In chapter 11 he drove the bus to the hospital to rescue the bus driver.He was calm and smart.He is smart because he knew that the ambulance wouldn't reach the bus in time to save the bus driver.He took over the wheel while the bus driver was unconcious thats true leadership.In chapter 9 he taught sophie how to drive.But when they had a accident cap took over the wheel and was calm and kept sophie calm.

Definition: Leadership is when you have the ability of having people want to follow in your footsteps for the great outcome.
ReplyDeleteCapricorn shows leadership when he kept giving money to charity when it was for the dance yes he didnt understand that but it still helped alot of different causes.
I think Rain shows leadership because after Capricorn's parents died she took care of Cap on her own. Also, she taught Cap that violence was never the answer and she told him to never give up.

ReplyDeleteCapricorn Anderson showed leader by taking the bus driver to the hospital when he got ill even knowing that he was not suppose to drive but it was the best solution.
When they elected Cap he did not know what to do but he asked questions and got through it.

In the book Cap learned the names of every student at C Average Middle School. This shows leadership because as president, it's good to know the other students that he'd be working with. - Chapter 30 p. 197-199
Another thing that Cap did to prove his leadership was plan the Halloween Dance. Even though they had to cancel the Dance, Cap still had everybody involved in parts of making the dance a success. - Chapter 12 p. 82-84

I think Cap shows leadership when the bus driver had a heart attack and he drove him across town to the hospital. While every one else was struck with fear he was the one to do something and that shows great leadership.

ReplyDelete3. Leadership means to, take control or be in charge of something. Cap shows this when he goes to live with the Donnelly's. He shows leadership by being without his grand,other for 8 months. He also shows leadership by not giving up when being choosen for 8th grade president. He didn't give up or say I can't. He also shows leadership by standing up for what he believes in. In chapter two is where Cap has to live in a foster home. In chapter 6 is where Cap is choosen to be 8th grade prsident.

One way Cap shows leadership is that he listened to all the students' suggestions.
In chap.6 p.38-39, Zach and his friends put fake suggestions in the box , but Cap still told them to Mr.Kasigi.
The second way Cap shows leadership is that he did not lose his cool or panic.
All through out the book, Zack and his friends messed with him, but Cap kept his cool.

ReplyDeleteLeadership is someone who is in control and is leading a group into a good direction. Cap was in control of the dance and he tried to do his best to make a nice job. So he put other students in charge of things since he didn't know much about dances. Cap was in charge of the schools budget for the dance. He got checks that he was supposed to pay for the dance but he started spending the money on good deeds like charity.
Cap Anderson showed leadership by taking care of Rain who is his grandmother, who fell out of a tree becaused she fainted. pg.6 chapt.1

ReplyDeleteMy #1 pick is cap.In chapter 11 he drove the bus to the hospital to rescue the bus driver.He was calm and smart.He is smart because he knew that the ambulance wouldn't reach the bus in time to save the bus driver.He took over the wheel while the bus driver was unconcious thats true leadership.In chapter 9 he taught sophie how to drive.But when they had a accident cap took over the wheel and was calm and kept sophie calm.

ReplyDeleteCapricorn Anderson shows leadership on chapter 11 because when he was about to sit down in the bus Mr. Rodrigo fell to the ground , unconscious. That's when Cap took the wheel And drove him to the hospital this shows leadership to the other students in the bus. Cap shows another way to show leadership by ignoring the comments all the students say to him on chapter 11.

Cap Anderson gave money to the charity, however, it wasn't his money to give. He was doing the right thing with the wrong resources.
